Description
Isabelle is a light coloured jenny donkey who came to the sanctuary in March 2025. She was saved from the abattoir lorry in Normandy, France along with her daughters Madelaine and Florence.
She is estimated to have been born around 2012 and was very unsure about people doing anything to avoid contact. Since arriving at the sanctuary she has undergone considerable work on building her trust, and rectifying her overgrown and unbalanced feet causing her discomfort and difficulty in walking properly. She has been enrolled on our vaccination and worming program, and her teeth have been done so she can now eat comfortably.
She has started to accept having a head collar on and allowing us to touch her, but only on her terms and is never apart from her daughters.
As part of your adoption package, in addition to your certificate and photograph, you will have the opportunity to come along and meet her at her home on Hayling Island at one of our Open Days.
If you would like to adopt Isabelle as a gift for someone else, kindly enter their name along with the date you want it to start in the “Additional Notes” section of the checkout page.
