Description
Martha is a very friendly skewbald Jenny, she was born around 2020 and arrived at the sanctuary on the 19th March 2026. Her history is unclear but was found walking the streets by the police, for her safety they took her to a local horse owner who kindly took her in and cared for her until other arrangements could be made. She apparently had been kept tethered by her previous owner who sadly passed away. The sanctuary was asked to take her in so she could have donkey friends and feel safe. Meanwhile the kind horse owner along with local villagers had taken quite a shine to her lovely friendly nature and clubbed together some funds to secure her ownership and help the sanctuary give her what she needed. Like many we meet she did have very overgrown feet and sharp hooks on her teeth that made us think she would be very difficult to handle and sort out her problems, but to our surprise she has been so cooperative and has taken all of the remedial treatment as if she was having a spa day!
